The Baird and ANCHOR (NPD) Project

Jackie has worked in the NHS for 37 years, initially as a nurse in Glasgow, Aberdeen and Newcastle, then business manager at Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and over the last 18 years in project/programme management roles in NHS Grampian. 

Between 1997 and 2004 Jackie was the Project Development Manager for the new Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital delivered as a capital project.

Between 2004 and 2010 Jackie lead on a number of service re-design initiatives including e.g. the re-design of older people’s services in Aberdeen.  Additionally, she was Project Director for a number of capital projects including e.g. Woodend Hospital ward upgrading and the new Whinhill Medical Practice delivered using Framework NEC3.

During the last 5 years Jackie has been Project Director for a number of hub DBFM projects including:

  • The Aberdeen Community Health and Care Village Project, the first hubCo DBFM project in Scotland, operational in 2013
  • The Forres, Woodside and Tain hubCo Bundle Project the first DBFM bundle project involving two Boards in Scotland, operational in 2014 
  • The Inverurie and Foresterhill Bundle hubCo DBFM Project due to be operational in 2017

In December 2014 Jackie was appointed to the post of Project Director for The Baird and ANCHOR Project in Aberdeen.  A £120m NPD Project to create a new woman’s hospital and cancer centre in Aberdeen to be delivered by 2020.

Jackie grew up in Killin Perthshire, is married to Adrian and has two children Aimee (21) and Thomas (19).
