Aberdeen hospitals plan unveiled

01/09/2015

The health board has lodged a pre-application notification with Aberdeen City Council, with plans to create at least 10 new facilities on the site.

Among the proposals is the new Baird Family Hospital, which will include maternity, gynaecology, breast screening and breast surgery services. It will also provide a neonatal unit, a centre for reproductive medicine, an operating theatre suite as well as research and teaching facilities.

Meanwhile, the new ANCHOR Centre will provide both out-patient and day-patient investigation as well as treatment services for people with cancer and for patients with blood disorders, including non-cancer conditions.

Both schemes form part of the Scottish government’s £1bn refresh of the NPD pipeline, announced in October last year.

As well as those two buildings, the £150m redevelopment of the Foresterhill site will include a patient hotel, a multi-storey car park and a new life sciences centre which will be shared with Aberdeen University. - See more at: http://www.partnershipsbulletin.com/news/view/91846#sthash.0wczzi2v.dpuf
